ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION OF THE ASSOCIATION ITALIAN REPUBLIC

In the year 1991, one thousand nine hundred and ninety-one, today, the fifteenth (15) of January

In Bologna, Via San Giorgio no. 6. Before me, Dr. DOMENICO PIAZZA, Notary registered with the Notarial District of Bologna, residing in Loiano, the following persons have appeared:

The appearing parties, Italian citizens as they declare to me, whose personal identity I am certain of, mutually agree and, with my consent, waive the assistance of witnesses for this act, having the legal requirements, and stipulate as follows:

Ⅰ)

An association named "ITALIAN SOCIETY OF VICTIMOLOGY," a center for research and studies on victims, is hereby established with a duration until December 31, 2010 [with subsequent amendments to the Statutes, this term has been extended until December 31, 2030], with its registered office in Bologna, ....Omitted.....


ⅠⅠ)

The Association aims to promote, in the spirit of freedom in scientific research, cultural initiatives, studies, research, and social interventions in the field of victimology, with particular reference to victims of crimes, and more generally to victims of deviance, injustice, marginalization, violence, war events, and disasters, taking into account cultural and socio-ecological factors and security issues.
The Association’s activities may also include:
- Conducting studies and research, including statistical analyses, on criminal and para-criminal phenomena, with a focus on the issues faced by crime victims, particularly their opportunities to participate in investigations and judicial proceedings, and studying, "de iure condendo," the most effective means of protecting them;
- Promoting and organizing techniques and methods of social, psychological, and legal assistance for crime victims, victims of social violence in general, and those whose collective interests are harmed by phenomena involving the exploitation of social, economic, and environmental resources.

To this end, the Association undertakes the development of studies and projects, the conduct of scientific research, the training of researchers, and promotes the dissemination of scientific results achieved through the organization of seminars, conferences, publications, or other forms deemed appropriate. To achieve its objectives, the Association may also collaborate with other public or private entities, particularly with other research institutes, professional associations, and professionals, to develop initiatives deemed suitable for achieving the aforementioned purposes. Any profit-making purpose is expressly excluded.


ⅠⅠⅠ)

The Association is governed by these Articles of Association and by the Statutes, which I, the Notary, have read to the appearing parties who approve them, and which, duly signed in accordance with the law, are attached to this act as Annex "A," forming an integral and substantial part thereof.



ⅠⅤ)

The common fund consists of membership fees, contributions paid by Ordinary Members and Supporting Members, determined annually by the Board of Directors, extraordinary allocations related to the establishment of specific research groups, any contributions or grants from public or private entities, and any other financial resources derived from initiatives undertaken to achieve the Association’s institutional objectives.
The common fund also includes any residual positive balances from the financial statements.


Ⅴ)

The founding members, constituting themselves as an Assembly, with unanimous and open votes, appoint a Board composed of 3 (three) members, which will remain in office for three financial years.
The following persons are appointed to the Board: ... Omitted...., all present at this act, who declare their acceptance of the position.
Immediately thereafter, they proceed to elect the President, Vice-President, and Secretary-Treasurer, unanimously appointing .... Omitted ....
The appearing parties postpone the appointment of the Scientific Committee members to a subsequent meeting.


ⅤⅠ)

The expenses of this act, and those consequent and dependent upon it, are unanimously agreed to be borne by the Association hereby established.
I, the Notary, have read this act, typed by a person of my trust and completed by me on two sheets occupying four full pages and part of the fifth up to this point, to the appearing parties who have approved it.
