The Journal

Review

The Criminology, Victimology, and Security Journal (RCVS) ensures the scientific quality of each published issue and, to this end, employs a two-stage procedure to evaluate article proposals submitted to the editorial office for publication.

Initially, a member of the editorial team verifies that the proposal complies with the editorial guidelines and that the manuscript has not been previously published elsewhere.

Subsequently, the proposal is reviewed by the coordinator of the scientific committee, who assigns it anonymously to two referees (blind peer-review). Referees are selected based on their specific expertise and must provide their evaluations using the downloadable form (referee form). The evaluation process follows the peer-review criteria established by the Coordination of Italian Sociology Journals (CRIS).

The evaluation process for proposals typically takes eight weeks from the date of manuscript receipt. Authors will receive the evaluation outcomes, including in cases of rejection, and, if applicable, requests for revisions to the submitted contributions.

RCVS also publishes editorials, commentaries, and book reviews, for which the Editorial Board assumes direct responsibility for evaluation.

The list of referees who have collaborated with the journal is published on this page and updated periodically. This serves both as a form of acknowledgment for their contributions and as a mechanism to ensure transparency regarding the adopted procedure.
